Eligible low-income families submit an application requesting consideration for an AssistMyHome Housing Assistance Campaign. Applicants provide information about their household, housing situation, and financial circumstances to help AssistMyHome conduct a fair and consistent review.
Applications are reviewed by AssistMyHome’s designated Review Committee using the organization’s established selection process and evaluation criteria (Scorecard). The committee evaluates each application based on the information provided and other factors relevant to the program.
Qualified applicants may be shortlisted for community voting before a final family is selected for a Housing Assistance Campaign.
Selected applicants are asked to complete the required authorization forms and provide information, photographs, or other materials for publication on AssistMyHome’s website. Applicants may choose to remain partially anonymous.
Note: Submission of an application, review of an application, participation in community voting, or selection for a Housing Assistance Campaign does not guarantee fundraising results, donations, financial assistance, or any specific outcome.
Qualified finalists may be presented to the public for community voting as part of AssistMyHome’s Housing Assistance Campaign selection process. Community members can vote to help determine which qualified family will be featured next. Community voting is conducted in accordance with AssistMyHome’s policies and is one part of the organization’s overall selection process.
Note: Community voting is considered together with AssistMyHome’s established policies and review process. Voting does not guarantee selection or financial assistance.
After the final family has been selected through AssistMyHome’s review process and, where applicable, community voting, approved information about the selected family is published on AssistMyHome’s website as part of a Housing Assistance Campaign. Community members may contribute tax-deductible donations in support of the campaign.
These contributions help support approved housing-related purposes for the selected family in accordance with AssistMyHome’s policies.
Funds received through Housing Assistance Campaigns are disbursed in accordance with AssistMyHome’s policies and Terms & Conditions for approved housing-related purposes, such as a home purchase. Selected families identify a housing opportunity and provide the necessary information and documentation for review. Following a successful Housing Assistance Campaign and completion of the required verification process, funds are disbursed directly to approved third parties, such as home sellers, escrow companies, lenders, or other entities involved in the transaction.
Note: From donations received through Housing Assistance Campaigns, after applicable third-party payment processing fees, AssistMyHome deducts an Operational Support Fee of $0.20 per donation plus 2% of the donation amount to support program administration and organizational operations, as further described in the Donation and Fee Policy and Terms & Conditions.
Upon completion of the Housing Assistance Campaign and approved disbursement process, selected families receive support for approved housing-related purposes in accordance with AssistMyHome’s policies and Terms & Conditions.
AssistMyHome encourages people to come together and support Housing Assistance Campaigns through a transparent and fair process that helps create opportunities for low-income families to purchase a home. AssistMyHome does not fund home purchases from its own resources.
